In Visible Ink

2017

A commission from The National Theatre, to curate an exhibition celebrating queer voices and their intersections with the NT. This commission marked the 25th Anniversary NT restaging of Angels in America.

The exhibition used retro ‘decoder glasses’ to allow readers to reveal a hidden timeline of queer social and historical events, and personal accounts, which ran parallel with a mainstream NT timeline. The exhibition was accompanied by a video piece in which people held up hand-written signs with the name of their queer heroes on, as well as a space for visitors to add the name of their own queer hero to the wall.
